Labgenomics Acquires Two International Information Security Standard Certifications. Focusing on Building and Stabilizing Medical Data.
Labgenomics has obtained two international standard certifications: the Information Security Management System (ISO 27001) and the Privacy Information Management System (ISO 27701).
The newly acquired ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 are prestigious international standard certifications in the field of information security, established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
These certifications are awarded to companies that meet the requirements, which include 35 requirements and 114 criteria for information security (ISO 27001), and 8 requirements and 49 criteria for privacy protection (ISO 27701).
Through these certifications, Labgenomics will protect patients' Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) diagnostic data and comply with various legal requirements such as the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Based on this, the company plans to strengthen trust with customers, enhance corporate and brand value, and expand market share.
A company representative stated, "The certification audit process recognized our efforts in strengthening internal information protection policies and procedures, improving security infrastructure, and conducting information security training for all employees." The representative explained, "These efforts will serve as a fundamental basis to ensure that our customers' sensitive medical information is safely protected from external threats."
Additionally, the company emphasized, "We are significantly increasing our IT professional workforce and are heavily investing in IT security and infrastructure to focus on the stabilization of medical services and data."
